Apple announced a bunch of software and services at both its WWDC developer event in June and then at its September iPhone launch event recently, where it also announced launch dates for a couple of things it had spoken about previously.

But just when will everything launch? We've gathered together all the key dates so you can see what's what.

Apple Arcade

Apple's subscription gaming service avoids the problem of freemium games and costs $4.99/£4.99 a month after a month trial. Apple Arcade launched in 150 countries on 19 September. We've written a feature on the best seven games to download first that's worth a read.

You'll need iOS 13 to run Apple Arcade.

iOS 13 and WatchOS 6

The new iPhone and iPod touch operating system is available to download now, as well as the latest version of WatchOS for (most) Apple Watch owners.

The new operating system, iOS 13, works on everything from iPhone SE and iPhone 6 or later. If you're using an iPhone 5S or later, sorry, the update won't be available.

For Apple Watch owners, you get new Watch faces, including the new California watch face, Cycle tracking for women, and a new Noise app that lets you see just how noisy your environment is, among other features. You can read our WatchOS 6 feature for a breakdown of all the new tricks your Apple Watch can do.

The WatchOS 6 update is available for Apple Watch Series 1 and newer, though Series 1 and Series 2 owners will have to wait until 'later this autumn' for the update. The original Apple Watch is not on the compatible list sadly.

iOS 13.1

Following the launch of iOS 13, Apple rolled out a quick update to fix a number of bugs it has found and introduced a number of new features to the iOS in a release Apple called iOS 13.1.

It arrived on Tuesday 24 September, just six days after iOS 13, and five days after the new iPhones went on sale. It brings missing iOS 13 features like Shortcuts Automations. Other features of note include the ability to share your ETA in Maps, and new Dynamic Wallpapers.

iPadOS

Apple has spun an iPad-specific operating system out of iOS now (it has the same version number for now). iPad OS has a different release date than iOS 13. It officially rolled out on 24 September - instead of the originally announced 30 September release date.

iPadOS will work on iPad Air 2 and later.

macOS 10.15 Catalina

The new version of macOS usually debuts in September, but this year macOS Catalina rolled out from 7 October. The OS pretty much works on all Macs made since 2012.

Apple TV+

Apple TV+ launches on 1 November and will cost $4.99/£4.99 per month after a seven day trial. Devices supported are the iPhone, iPad, Apple TV 4K, Apple TV HD, Apple TV (3rd generation), iPod touch and Mac although it seems it will be available for other devices through Chrome or Firefox.

Apple TV+ will also be available on the Apple TV app on selected 2018, 2019 and newer Samsung smart TVs, and it'll also have an app on Amazon Fire TV, LG, Roku, Sony and Vizio platforms in the future.

Apple is also offering new iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Mac or iPod owners a year's free subscription.

iPhone 11 Pro Deep Fusion

The Apple iPhone 11's Deep Fusion camera feature blends together images to create the best image there can possibly be - it shoots nine images - eight images are captured before you even tap the shutter while the shutter press records a long-exposure shot.

This feature will come in a software update, although we're not sure when it will appear as yet.

HomePod and iOS 13

Apple has confirmed there are a number of new features coming to the company's smart speaker, but haven't detailed when that will be exactly.

Gopro Software Mac

Sometime this autumn, the HomePod will add Ambient Sounds, which Apple has described as offering 'soothing sounds of ocean waves, forest birds, rainstorms, and more', as well as, the ability to ask Siri to play one of 100,000 stations.

Apple also said you'll be able to hand off a call or song from your iPhone to your HomePod, and that the HomePod will be able to recognise up to six different voices.

All these features are coming later in the year at some point with Apple unable to confirm when that might actually be.
